Answered Prayers

Four volunteers from Columbia, S.C., arrived in Bamako, Mali, on July 4th to proclaim freedom through Jesus Christ. Building upon the friendship of two new believers in the S neighborhood, at least four more believers were added to their number. The Gospel was boldly preached to the neighborhood chief and elders and other Bambara men. The group listened intently and warmly welcomed the team of believers, giving them permission to work in their neighborhood. They even requested that the team return or send others to share more. Give thanks for the six believers in this section of the city and the door God has opened for future ministry. gobambara.org/

Praise the Lord for the effectiveness of a distribution project among the Muslims of Lucknow, India. The goal was to distribute materials in 50 villages over a one-month period. By the grace of God, more than 100 villages received materials with approximately 12,000 items given out. Pray that the materials will be used and many people will request a follow-up visit. Pray that these seekers will be visited in a timely manner and will understand and respond to the truth. IsaMasih-Lucknow.org

After receiving healing through a vision from Jesus and reading through the Gospels, Mr. B now believes God’s Word and trusts Jesus as His Savior. Mr. B is the first known Moko believer on his Pacific Rim island! Pray for Mr. B to “be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so that (he) will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God” (Colossians 1:9b-10, NASB). Intercede for Mr. B’s household, friends and neighbors, asking that they, too, will trust in the Lord with all their hearts.

In July, about 25 Mandinka believers from The Gambia and Senegal gathered together for worship, fellowship and prayer. They also set aside time for evangelistic visitation in the neighborhood where they met. This is the second time this year that the believers had met together. Workers among the Mandinka have been praying for a long time for Mandinka believers to understand the importance of gathering together. Give thanks to God that these often isolated believers are beginning to encourage and strengthen each other as they recognize that they are members of the much larger family of God! mandinkapeople.com/

A group of South Indian seminary students learned how to share the love of Jesus Christ in word and deed to the Muslims of the Deccan. As a result, their confidence has increased and their passion for Jesus and the lost has been ignited. One of these students, who recently graduated, has committed the next two years of his life to reaching the Deccani Muslims and training others to reach them. Praise the Lord! He is enlisting His laborers to proclaim Jesus in love and humility to the Deccani Muslims. Please pray for this seminary graduate, asking that God will give him a fruitful ministry among the Deccani. Also ask that he be guided and empowered as he trains other believers to effectively evangelize and disciple the Muslim men and women in the Deccan area of India. go2southasia.org/

Give thanks for discipleship/leadership training events that were held in Nigeria in June. Kano Katsina Fulbe team members and five Fulbe leaders traveled to a Nigerian Baptist church located in a Fulbe area. The next morning the leaders went out in pairs visiting three Fulbe fellowships in the area, where they trained the believers and leaders. In the evening, the JESUS film was shown at the home-base church for the Fulbe living in the area. The next day the group moved to a different Baptist church and trained the believers in three other fellowships. Once again they showed the JESUS film in the evening. Praise God not only for the new believers and leaders who were trained, but for the 39 Fulbe who were saved and added to the six fellowships. jkgombe@aol.com

Give thanks for churches in France that are becoming burdened for the salvation of North African immigrants living in their midst! Team Paris is providing training for French churches in Greater Paris, through which they are teaching French believers how to share their faith with their Muslim neighbors. Pray that many French Christians will participate in these training sessions and use what they have learned to lovingly, respectfully and boldly share the Gospel with Muslims living in their communities. Pray for French Christians to become a mighty host of winsome witnesses sharing the Gospel with a sense of urgency throughout Paris.

The Hausa Team invited Southern Baptists to pray for a man and his pregnant wife who were both HIV positive, for the health and safety of the wife and the baby and for their salvation. Praise the Lord for the way He has answered these prayers. The husband accepted the Lord and the couple has a beautiful, happy, healthy baby boy. The wife became more open and receptive as she listened to and discussed Bible passages and questions with her husband. Recently, she prayed to receive Christ as her Savior! Give thanks and continue to pray for this couple, asking that they will grow in their new faith and in their relationship with God. Pray that they will be effective witnesses to their family and community of God’s faithfulness and love.

Praise the Lord! God is continuing to open doors into new Bozo villages. He recently led the Bozo Team to a new village. They went there to meet one man, but through the work of the Holy Spirit were led to an older man who was anxious to hear the Gospel. They shared the story of redemption from creation to Christ’s return with him as he listened attentively. He has invited the team to return to share more about the stories from the Bible.

The Gospel is spreading rapidly among the people living in the Apple District of Indonesia! A number of adults have decided to follow Jesus. God has shown one believer that the fields are “ripe unto harvest,” and he is boldly sharing his faith. As local believers have seen people come to faith, they have also been encouraged to share more boldly. Please pray that more people will come to know Jesus as Lord and that local believers will continue to boldly share their faith. Pray that the new believers will grow spiritually and that many new home fellowships will be planted throughout the district.

Praise the Lord for the baptism of four Mossi men. Pray for these men to become the first believers of a new church in their community — a church that reaches out to share the Gospel and begin other churches among the lost multitudes in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire. mhmcafee95@yahoo.com

Q, the director of a women’s prison in Kyrgyzstan, allowed workers to visit the 70-plus women in his facility, even helping with the paperwork and documents they need to carry on their ministry. On their last visit, they were shocked to hear that Q had been moved to another facility about two hours away. Thankfully, when they met with the new director, he seemed quite open to having the visits continue. Even so, the loss of Q brought sadness to their hearts. Then Q contacted the workers and invited them to visit his new location — a juvenile facility! Rejoice in this new door of ministry that is opening! Praise God for the reminder that His ways are not our ways, and His ways are always best!
